Jacob Thorbjørn Olesen (born 21 December 1989) is a Danish professional golfer who plays on the DP World Tour, where he has won eight times including the 2016 Turkish Airlines Open and multiple Rolex Series events. He turned professional in 2008 and earned his European Tour card for 2011 after a successful Challenge Tour season. His breakthrough came with the 2012 Sicilian Open, and he has since established himself as one of Denmark's most successful golfers. Career highlights include winning the prestigious 2015 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and the 2016 Turkish Airlines Open. He represented Europe in the 2018 Ryder Cup at Le Golf National, defeating Jordan Spieth 5&4 in singles as Europe won 17½ to 10½. Olesen has represented Denmark at two Olympic Games (Rio 2016 and Paris 2024) and won the 2016 World Cup of Golf with Søren Kjeldsen. His most recent victory came at the 2024 Ras Al Khaimah Championship, bringing his DP World Tour win total to eight, making him Denmark's second-most successful golfer after Thomas Bjørn. Known for his solid all-around game and competitive spirit, Olesen continues to be a key figure in Danish and European golf.
